St Philomena's Sixth Form - Online Learning during COVID-19

Following Government advice, St Philomena’s Catholic High School for Girls partially closed to students from Tuesday 24th March 2020 until Friday 5th June 2020 due to Covid-19 Pandemic Tier 4 Lockdown. Our current Year 13 students, who were in Year 12 at the time, were taught remotely by their subject teacher following normal timetabled lessons every day.

This online learning consisted of a combination of live lessons and fully-resourced lessons which students were expected to attend on a daily basis, following the normal school timetable. Week beginning Monday 8th June, Year 12 students came in for a Reorientation Week, and then the last four weeks of the Summer Term 2020 were dedicated to the Recovery Curriculum whereby they came into school for two separate face-to-face sessions for each of their subjects of study and on the days when they were not in school, they continued to access lessons online, either live lessons or lessons via virtual classrooms. End-of-Year examinations took place under Tier 1 of Lockdown when the wider school reopened from week beginning Monday 7th September until Friday 18th September.
